26/11.. & an year after that!!!!

Hi,

Hope you all are doing good!!!!

It’s been a long time .. I was here… and I had been planning to bounce back with something.

Today being the 1st anniversary of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, I thought of writing something to give a tribute to all the martyr’s who fought, who helped/saved other’s or say our life.

A Big thanks to all these wonderful people.

Last year, I was not as usual.. so came home early and at night … as I was not sleepy.. was going through all channels… when they showed some news about a gang war between two groups in the Leopold Café. I got hooked up to the news and the news took a big U turn…from Gang war it changed to terrorist attack and soon… from Cama..Taj..trident …Nariman House..CST…how ATS chief Mr. Hemant KarKare ..was getting ready in front of my eyes… to face the challenge… then I heard after around 15-20 mins was all three Heroes Mr. KArkare..Kamte and Salaskar.. trio death…..all shocking news all together….

The whole operation went for more than 3 days… In front of my eyes… I saw the mighty Taj burning… something all mumbaities always look upto….the rescue operation in Nariman house being the toughest of all… 10 terrorists who brought on such a damage to the country in all ways… more than 165 innocent people lost their lives…

1 terrorist Ajmal Kasab was caught alive…..

This Year: Still trial going on for Ajmal Kasab.. Don’t know.. how many more years it’s going to continue… People who lost their loved ones.. still grieve for their loses…

And Has our Government learnt any lesson from it….. can we be sure that .. 26/11 won’t repeat again…It’s true that everyone fought with all their efforts to save people and property last year…but this situation could have been averted.. had they seen it coming….

Are we safe now…??

A news paper reported “The attacks, thought to have been well-planned in Pakistan, meant suspension of peace talks that were on between India and Pakistan. Since then there has just been accusations and counter claims by both countries regarding the attacks, and Pakistan’s commitment in curbing terrorism that is nurtured on its soil. The Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has said that talks between the two neighbors will not restart until the Mumbai attack suspects were brought to justice.”

Is this all what you get … is this an assurance… what do you mean by… attacks….thought..to be planned…??

Suspension of peace talks……we don’t want any peace talks… with such a country…

1 year and nothing has changed much… when will we Learn a Lesson… when….how many more such attacks would we see…. It’s true … Mumbai always bounces back… but what about all those innocent people…

Why are we still insecure?

However… in true sense… I(all Indians) would like to give my(our)  tribute to all the martyrs who laid down their lives.. and would like to pay homage to all the people.. who lost their loved ones..

Let’s pray that…we don’t get to see anything like this …again…

BEING IN TWENTIES – SOMETHING

I had been a lot lot lot lazy and I dint post anything …… L .but I will try to be a lot more sincere towards my blogging from now on J .I just got a funny stuff to read…and I felt it quite true…….It’s something what I noticed in my life…..and in my frnd’s too  We think and try to live in past when present is in front of us…… and when present becomes past…..still we have the same feeling…… I liked this stuff ..I hope you also would like it too…. J

BEING IN TWENTIES – SOMETHINGIt is when you stop going along with the crowd and start realizing that there are many things about yourself that you didn’t know and may not like. You start feeling insecure and wonder where you will be in a year or two, but then get scared because you barely know where you are now.

You start realizing that people are selfish and that, maybe, those friends that you thought you were so close to aren’t exactly the greatest people you have ever met, and the people you have lost touch with are some of the most important ones. What you don’t recognize is that they are realizing that too, and aren’t really cold, catty, mean or insincere, but that they are as confused as you.

You look at your job… and it is not even close to what you thought you would be doing, or maybe you are looking for a job and realizing that you are going to have to start at the bottom and that scares you.

Your opinions have gotten stronger. You see what others are doing and find yourself judging more than usual because suddenly you realize that you have certain boundaries in your life and are constantly adding things to your list of what is acceptable and what isn’t. One minute, you are insecure and then the next, secure.

You laugh and cry with the greatest force of your life. You feel alone and scared and confused. Suddenly, change is the enemy and you try and cling on to the past with dear life, but soon realize that the past is drifting further and further away, and there is nothing to do but stay where you are or move forward.

You get your heart broken and wonder how someone you loved could do such damage to you. Or you lie in bed and wonder why you can’t meet anyone decent enough that you want to get to know better. Or maybe you love someone but love someone else too and cannot figure out why you’re doing this because you know that you aren’t a bad person. One night stands and random hook ups start to look cheap. Getting wasted and acting like an idiot starts to look pathetic. You go through the same emotions and questions over and over, and talk with your friends about the same topics because you cannot seem to make a decision. You worry about loans, money, the future and making a life for yourself… and while winning the race would be great, right now you’d just like to be a contender!

What you may not realize is that every one reading this relates to it. We are in our best of times and our worst of times, trying as hard as we can to figure this whole thing out.
We call it the “Quarter-life Crisis.”

Where has time gone ???

Hi friends… long time…back again….
Well for long time.. 1 reason was …. I wanted all of u to read my story and comment …. :D kidding!!!
Well,reason was ‘I didn’t find time’ .

This clause is something  I don’t understand myself.
When I look back to my childhood…then this word was never in our dictionaries ‘I didn’t have time’ .

Where has time gone? where ?
Well…we will come to that later.
Let me tell you something I did some time back on a weekend & I am happy for that.
I was coming back from church (our church is quite far away ,we come and go by auto , but today while coming back I didnt find a Auto , so I started walking to the main road which is 5-10 mins from the church) .I had almost reached the main road when I heard someone giving a quick ‘hi’. I turned back to see one of my close pals from my school…whom I had never met after school becoz she shifted from our place and we some how could never stay in touch.
We chatted a long time there itself …………
I was so happy to see her…she added quickly ‘chal come home, it’s quite near, you just have to walk the same way you came here “ofcourse if you have time“‘
‘If you have time’ question started moving in my head, besides walking all the way at around 12:30 afternoon made things difficult for me. I was in two minds :(
- 1 was ‘take her mobile no, call her & plan to meet (which planning itself would take weeks ) and take a auto, you have lots of work to be done before your weekend ends and then mom dad will be waiting for lunch’
-2 was ‘comeon you met her after so many days, walk a little, other things can be done later also, abhi go meet uncle , aunty ‘
Well I opted for the second option and I am happy I did that.
We talked all the way about our school days, about our school friends, about our current state.
At her home, aunty was there so she too was happy to see me after a long time,
We all had a good time.In time I got up coz I knew at home mom dad would be waiting for lunch and luckily I got a auto from there too :)
I was quite happy to have gone with option 2 , this made me think ….
Do we really have no time or our priorities have changed ?
I know most of us have a busy schedule …………most of us spend most of our life in office…….. :(   but still…..is it just our busy schedules that eat up our time or something else
What do you think ….Do we really don’t find time ????????? Where has time gone ???

Again a good one!!!

Hi friends…
Hope all are doing fine. I had a bigg thanks giving holiday here…..
so thought off writing something :) !!!!!
I thought of again switching to some articles….

Recently I saw a hollywood movie ‘Jack‘, it’s quite old movie, released in 1996 and I had seen it before, but then I had these feelings in mind and couldn’t express it …but today thanks to wordpress and my wellwishers who made me open a blog  :) …..I am able to express it here.
I was just going through all channels as usual and I came across ‘Jack‘ and as the movie was just beginning, I thought of watching it.  :)

Jack’ was released in August 9, 1996 and the lead role -that’s Jack is played by Robin Williams.
Jack‘ is a fairly entertaining sentimental comedy.

Jack‘ is born as a premature baby and hence he is fully tested to know that he suffers from a genetic disorder that causes him to physically age four times faster than a normal person. His cells multiply 4 times than the normal multiplication.

Now ‘Jack‘ is 10 years old, but he appears to be a forty year middle-aged man who has the brain and innocent eyes of a 10 year kid and his parents look still younger than him.
Fearing ridicule from the outside world, Jack’s parents have kept him home and he is taught by a private tutor.
But Jack does not seem happy, because he wants to go to school, study with other students, make friends.
Finally he lands up in school in the fifth grade, which is the adventure part of his life
But all children around does not behave properly with him, because all go with his appearance, but his positive attitude and kind heart wins hearts of many and he passes of as a old old man …but with many many friends of his age.

One can never doubt ‘Robin Williams’s acting skills, but the things I liked was, the theme, the brain behind the movie.
It’s a normal movie….certainly we come across mentally disabled children, who are adults but think like a kid…
But can we think of a problem where a kid looks like a aged person ?
This shows how their scope of thinking is so wide….and we have a lot of boundaries to our thinking.
We too need to break the boundaries and think big..this movie was a example, we need to implement it in our lives.
The other thing I liked in the movie was the importance of being a child throughout your life, Jack has a small life, but a meaningful one
He remains a kid all the time :)
It’s a touching movie, and a good one and it reveals truths that many people don’t realise, or even if they do, they hide it from themselves and others.

Do catch the movie when you get a chance and I will catch you later.
Till then keep reading…and commenting too….

Some memories!!!

Hi frnds!!!
Its been quite a time…that I didn’t write anything…
Well…I didn’t have much to write…
These days most of my friends r moving 2 U.S
August 1st week,my building/school friend went….
and two weeks back one of my best friends went off to U.S…2
Well….am happy 4 all my frnds who r moving ahead and acheiving their dreams!!
Best of luc….

Well…this week it is Onam week…In Maharashtra it is not celebrated much….
But in Kerala this is a festive week…

Onam is one of the greatest festivals of Kerala. It is the festival, which the keralites celebrates unitedly without the difference of caste and religion.

When I was a kid,we used invite as well go to other houses for onam…
It was fun…all woman flock used to be in kitchen busy preparing all type of delicacies and we children used to do all type of masti…
And we have food on a banana leaf….and there used to different type of sabizis almost 15-20 ..with papad…banana chips and one thing I liked the most…’Shakravarti‘ .Its a stuff made of jaggery ,chips and a little of dried ginger.
And after all this …..we have the best porridge…kheer…
It’s not a normal  kheer…this is made of stuff called ‘ada’
On onam …it is specially prepared for onam and is called  ‘Ada pradanam’…..Oh…my mouth is watering….

In Kerala…..more things are added to it..
Actually speaking Onam is a celebration of Ten days. It comes in the month of “Chingam” according to Malayalam calender. People put flower mats in front of their houses, to welcome the King Mahabali. There will be competition for the laying of flower mats.( a flower rangoli). They will wear new dresses(patt pavada), will be visiting almost all temples which they can, they will be performing lot of dances and  Most important thing is the grant lunch(as I said before) they will be having on the Thiuruvonam day which is also called the Fourth Onam.
There is a saying in Malayalam that “Kanam Vittu Onam Unnanam” which means “We should have the Thiruonam lunch even if we have to sell all our properties”. They give that much importance to the lunch on the Thiruonam day.
Also their are boat races and elephant competitions ….

Chalo tommorrow is the day….I hope to help mom….cya…take care
                                      Happy Onam!!!!

Seawater turns Sweet,Believe it or Not!!!!

I had decided on Friday nite…..have 2 go 2 office 2morrow…..as i had a lot of work……
but dint take any measures 2 sleep early
and got up very very late……..just to get a sms from my frnd….
He had send it quite early in the morning…..but i got up late…..so i read it late….
It was …”hey I heard …..Mahim bridge ke yahan ka water has turned sweet….
I got this news from aajtak news…see it….its said to be a miracle.”
I jus thought he was playin some prank….as usual….people do thru sms…..
but then as I opened a site in my comp….It also showed d same news….
I was shocked….I immediately told dad to switch to aajtak or any of the mumbai
channels…

It was showing how mahim sea water has turned sweet…..with no salty taste in it.
It was said that it was miracle…..it showed tonnes and tonnes of people coming there to take the water to have it and take it to their near and dear ones….

Even they showed two police officals…who had actually come to stop people
from drinking this water….had themselves tasted it….and both had their own
opinions….
One was with d same opinion as d people and one said it tasted as a normal drinking…water….and he dint find it sweet.

It was really a breaking news….and stayed in all news channels….the whole day.

But BMC had banned people from going there and had issued a notice
that “The  water is not fit for drinking, it is very poisonous”
But it dint make a difference…..so many people poured in as all felt it to be a miraculous sign frm GOD.
And it did bring  unity 2…as Muslims came there as they felt..its al coz of their
Allah….and Hindus….coz of their God…and Christains coz their’s a famous Church in Mahim
where miraculos signs take place….most of the time…and people from all religions go there…

But can a sea water become sweet…can salinity go way totally…
They say there is change in the percentage of chemicals…so due some reaction..the water went sweet…
Scientists say sea water turning sweet at the Mahim bay is not a unique phenomenon.
“When river water flows into the sea during low tide (in this case Mithi river to the Mahim bay) there is a possibility that the river and sea waters don’t mix well, forming a band of low saline water”
Many more such phenomenon came forward from many scientists.
But it dint seem to change people’s mind.
Anywys got a similar news outside mumbai also… near Surat.
I hope it does not turn out to be same story as we heard about..Lord Ganesha drinking milk almost 10 yrs bac.

Do you really think these scientific reasons satisfy u…or u 2 feel there’s somethin spiritual about this.
Still once again we have a debate on SCIENCE over SPIRITUALITY

U keep thinking abt this, till thn I m signin off,Till then take care :)

Proud to be Indian!!!

August 15th is the day on which India gained independence after nearly 200 years of British rule

India is a unique study in contrasts.

A country that is changing rapidly, yet remains timeless. An economic superpower in the making, many of whose people still live in inhuman poverty.

Battered by natural and man-made disasters in recent years, India has been held together by the goodness of its people in its worst hour.

A symbol of great hope to many, for others it has fallen to the depths of no return.

Yet, in spite of it all, there is a magic about India that never ceases to astonish.

It shows a United India.

Independence Day  is celebrated with flag hoisting ceremonies and cultural programs in the state capitals. The Prime Minister’s speech at the Red Fort in Delhi is the major highlight.

THE NATIONAL ANTHEM OF INDIA being Jana-Gana-Mana(Thou Art the Ruler of All Minds) and  The National Song of India being VANDE MATARAM is sung on this occasion.

The Indian National Flag represents the hopes and aspirations of the people of India. It is the symbol of our national pride. The significance of the colours and the chakra in the National Flag was amply described by Dr. S. Radhakrishnan in the Constituent Assembly which unanimously adopted the National Flag.

Dr. S. Radhakrishnan explained—“Bhagwa or the saffron colour denotes renunciation of disinterestedness.  Our leaders must be indifferent to material gains and dedicate themselves to their work.  The white in the centre is light, the path of truth to guide our conduct.  The green shows our relation to soil, our relation to the plant life here on which all other life depends.  The Ashoka Wheel in the center of the white is the wheel of the law of dharma.  Truth or satya, dharma or virtue ought to be the controlling principles of those who work under this flag.  Again, the wheel denotes motion.  There is death in stagnation.  There is life in movement.  India should no more resist change, it must move and go forward.   The wheel represents the dynamism of a peaceful change.”

And while we are celebrating this Independence Day, we realize that we may have our differences of opinion, but the spirit of India runs in all of us.

At the stroke of the midnight hour, when the world sleeps, India will awake to life and freedom. A moment comes, which comes but rarely in history, when we step out from the old to the new, when an age ends, and when the soul of a nation, long suppressed, finds utterance….. We end today a period of ill fortune, and India discovers herself again

India is celebrating its 59th year of Independence today.Let’s be a part of it.

                       HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY

I AM PROUD TO BE AN INDIAN ,ARE YOU?
